What is squalane?

Squalane is a natural, plant-based oil that is known for its deeply moisturising and nourishing properties. It can also be helpful to keep the skin feeling soothed and calm, to help reduce the appearance of redness as a result.
It’s not to be confused with squalene, which in some cases is not vegan, as it can be derived from sharks. Sometimes it can be derived from vegetables, so always check if you’re unsure.
When is the right age to use it?
Teens can use squalane at any age – it’s suitable for all skin types too, including sensitive skin. It also keeps dry skin deeply moisturised.
Why should teens use it?
Squalane mimics the natural oils in your skin, keeping it naturally hydrated and balanced. That’s why you’ll find squalane in our Universal Soft Cream Moisturiser and Moisture Fix Mask.
