This skin type can come and go, depending on the cause.  

This could be hormonal changes, diet or overactive sebum production.  

Congested skin can show itself in different ways, such as dull, rough and uneven skin. 

A buildup of dead skin cells, impurities, sweat and excess oil within the pores can cause congestion. 

Unlike blemish-prone skin, which can involve inflammation, visible pimples or acne, congestion may not always cause visible blemishes.  

Things like lack of exfoliation, environmental pollutants, pore-clogging skincare products and poor diet can cause congestion.
