How do I stop my mascara from drying out?
How do I...
There’s nothing worse than coming to do your makeup and finding that your mascara has dried out. A single swipe could mean clumpy, crusty lashes, and no one wants that.
How do you stop this from happening? Here’s our top tips:
Replace your mascara every 6 months – hard to believe, but mascara’s have a shelf life too. If you want yours to work effectively, it’s best to replace them regularly.
Always close the tube – make sure the mascara is tightly shut, to prevent air from getting in and drying out the formula.
Avoid pumping – pumping the wand in and out might get some more product on the brush, but it also lets air into the tube, so you’ll end up with the same unwanted, dried up result.
Store in a cool place – believe it or not, hot or humid environments make mascara dry out faster, so keep it cool and dry.
