In the world of eye makeup, eyeliner is a skill to master. Once you do, those wings easily become a signature look.

We spoke to our indu makeup artist Emily, to get her top five tips to nail the perfect eyeliner flick.

1. “It’s easier to clean up and remove liner to perfect the shape, rather than get it perfect the first time” – you can use our Cleansing Pads to clean up and shape as you draw the liner!

2. “Follow the shape of your bottom water line” – this is the perfect guide for drawing that flick on your upper lid.

3. “Draw both flicks first and clean them up so they match, THEN connect to the eyelid and create a full liner, this will help avoid the liner getting too thick as you try to create the perfect shape” – we’ve all been there, where you’ve set out to do subtle wings and ended up in full panda mode. This is a hack to avoid that!

4. “If you struggle to use the pencil to get a flick, apply some product to your outer eye and then swipe it up with a brush or your finger” – a brush is the perfect tool for blending, and it’s already built in on our Soft-Glide Eye Pencil. Don’t overlook your fingers as a blending tool too!

5. “Draw the shape lightly and once you are happy with the liner, you can increase the intensity. This will avoid you having to remove thick liner if it’s wrong” – and it’ll also avoid that heavy panda eye moment!
