What is 'Project Pan'?

‘Project Pan’ is a beauty trend focused on finishing existing makeup and skincare products before purchasing new ones.

The name is derived from ‘hitting pan’, where you use up enough product to see the base pan. It allows you to make a conscious effort to reduce overconsumption and waste by using up what you already own.
FYI: this article has been written by Arpan, a member of our teen committee.

Project Pan has been circulating on social media for quite some time, and many people are jumping on the trend.

It started in makeup, but that doesn't mean you can't apply it to skincare too.

Here are some reasons why you should try it:
Saving money: as teens we learn important buying habits early on in life, since we are less likely to over consume as we are using up our existing products instead of buying duplicates.

Understanding your skin: through Project Pan you become more conscious on what works for you, as you’re more inclined to buy products that have previously worked well for you, and you know you can ‘hit pan’ with.

Environmental benefits: as more people become more sustainable, they will minimise waste.

Decluttering: eventually, your collection will become smaller since you’re only choosing what works best for your skin / desired look, so you keep things minimal.

Project Pan = more mindful and conscious approach to skincare and makeup, better spending habits and a more sustainable lifestyle. All good things!Environmental benefits: as more people become more sustainable, they will minimise waste.
