Should I use a clay mask?

Should I...

Clay masks have many functions and benefits for different skin types.

The best clay masks are usually formulated with natural, detoxifying clays that work to draw out impurities from your skin, reduce excess oil, shine and reduce the appearance of blemishes.

Are clay masks safe for teens?

Yes, as long as you ensure that you use a good quality mask that includes ingredients like green clay, kaolin clay or charcoal powder.

Our Clear Skin Fix Mask is a once-a-week wonder, where zinc, green clay and birch extract work together to draw out and dissolve unwanted oil and impurities, so your skin is brighter, clearer and soothed.

Our Spot On Paste might not be a mask, but it’s formulated with green clay and can be used as a targeted spot treatment – just put a small amount over a blemish or spot to help calm and conceal it.

How often should I use a clay mask?

Clay masks are suitable for normal, oily or combination skin types. Combination skin types should only target the T-Zone and avoid the cheeks.

You should only need to apply them once a week max, if you have excess oil or blemishes. Any more than that and it could have the opposite effect, stripping your skin of its natural oils and damaging the skin barrier.

As with anything, it’s best to use clay masks in moderation.
