How to deal with oily skin
How do I...
Between diet, exercise and hormones, oily skin is pretty common in your teenage years. It can be hard to control excess oil, but there are things you can do to create the perfect skincare routine for oily skin.
Read on for our top tips for rebalancing oily skin and reducing excess oil:
- Wash your face every morning, evening, and after exercise – double cleanse in the evening if you’ve worn makeup and SPF.
- Look for skincare products labelled ‘non-comedogenic’ – meaning they won’t clog pores. Thankfully, all indu products are formulated this way!
- Avoid products that are too rich/ heavy – oily skin, by definition, has enough oil already.
- Apply a lightweight moisturiser daily – it might sound counterproductive, but making sure your skin is moisturised actually helps to reduce excess oil – it helps to maintain the moisture within the skin, so that it doesn’t produce the excess, regulating the oil production when it has slipped out of balance.
- Drink water – keeping your skin and cells within deeply hydrated helps to reduce oil. When your skin is moisturised, the oil regulates.
